At Bishopstoke Sea Scouts, we are firm believers in the Explorer Scout Young Leader programme.

Young Leaders are aged 14 – 18, and undertake a training programme, similar to Adult Training, which equips them to lead the section they work with.

Whilst undergoing training, Young Leaders may also participate in Explorers, and any/all activities they run, up to, and including, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, and the Chief Scouts Platinum Award.

Our Adult Leaders provide support and mentoring to the Young Leaders within their section, and guide them through their training modules and missions.

Once a Young Leader turns 18, they can become an Adult Leader, with their Young Leader Training being counted towards their Adult Leader Training.
