OSM

We use Online Scout Manager (OSM) to manage personal details, badges and attendance. It is also used to send out emails to parents containing invitations to events or camps.

You will be invited to join the OSM “Parent Portal”.

You will receive an email inviting you to set up an account.

Once you have set up an account you will then be able to check and update your child’s details (please be advised you will need to set up a new account when your child moves to a new section).

Once you are logged in, on the left-hand side under “My Child” you will see several headings:

Events – Details of events that your child has been invited to and signed up to.

Badges – Details of badges that your child has completed or working towards.

Personal Details – This is where you can update all of your child’s details, medical details, allergies, dietary needs, emergency contact details, and provide your consent choices for photo publicity.

Emails – You can see all the emails that you have been sent to you by your section and by the group during the past 3 months.

Programme

We always have a very exciting range of activities planned for each section every term.
These are all listed in the programme section.

The programme screen is where you can find all the latest updates about what is going on each week. Leaders will always update this section with changes as well as inform you by email so keep checking back each week. Programme details are no longer listed the website to enable you to get the very latest information.

Each planned meeting during the term is shown with it’s title, date, time and a description of what will be happening. The details will normally be updated with any specific instructions relating to the activities which are planned – different locations, times, clothing requirements etc will all be shown here for each week as required.

Parent Rota

Sometimes Leaders may need a few extra pairs of hands for certain meetings, hikes and outdoor activities etc. These are sometimes shown with an extra button which allows to sign up for the parent rota for that date – this is a great help to all the leaders as it gives them a reassurance that parents will be available to help in advance so the meeting can go ahead.

GiftAid

If you are a UK taxpayer, we are able to claim back an additional 25% on all donations and membership fees you pay from HMRC, which over the course of a year is a significant amount of money. For parents, if you’ve not already signed up for GiftAid, please log into Online Scout Manager and sign up using the GiftAid link on the left – it takes about 5 seconds and costs you absolutely nothing!

Note: Bishopstoke Sea Scout Group do not currently use the online payment option.
