Welcome to Bishopstoke Sea Scouts where we provide fun and adventure both on and off the water!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bishopstoke Sea Scouts are based in Bishopstoke, near Eastleigh and we provide fun and challenging Scouting adventures and water activities for young people and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously known as the 13th Eastleigh (2nd Bishopstoke) Sea Scout Group, we have a long, and proud, history of providing Scouting to young people in our local area, and have operated from our current HQ, at St Pauls Church, since the 1960s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Scouting?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Scouting is a remarkable movement that brings amazing benefits and enjoyment to everyone involved \u2013 children, leaders, parents and everyone involved with the group. Scouting changes lives of young people and adults, we make a positive difference in our communities. We welcome all young people in Scouting and we believe passionately in what we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through adventure, we help our Scouts develop team-work skills, friendships, confidence, independence, responsibility and a \u2018can do\u2019 attitude to help prepare them for the wider world. Everyone in our group takes part in many adventures & activities at weekly evening meetings, weekend activities in the term, and week-long summer camps (for the older sections).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is Scouting for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Here at Bishopstoke Sea Scouts we run four sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Squirrel Scouts (4-5 years Thursday 5:15pm – 6:15pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beavers (6-8 years \u2013 Friday 6pm – 7:30pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cubs (8-10.5 years \u2013 Thursday 6:45pm \u2013 8:15pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sea Scouts (10.5-14 years \u2013 Friday 7:30pm \u2013 9:30pm)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also have Young Leaders (14-18yrs) and adult leaders (18+) who are our volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who runs Scouting?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our team of leaders is made up of dedicated adult volunteers from the local area. For most of the time these volunteers are engineers, nurses, librarians, teachers,\u00a0etc but are the heart and soul of our Scout group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone in our group is a volunteer, which is why we can provide such great value activities. All our leaders have undergone extensive training and DBS checks, and when we provide adventurous activities we will either use externally qualified people or our own volunteers with appropriate qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much does it cost?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Scouting is an affordable way of providing a range of exciting and adventurous activities for your child.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent survey, 75% of parents said Scouting provided the best value for money compared to other extra-curricular activities. The subscriptions fee covers the cost of the hire or upkeep of the meeting place and the costs of activities we provide. Our objective is always to keep our subs as low as possible whilst ensuring that we are able to provide the leaders with the facilities and equipment to offer exciting Scouting. Trips, camps and activities are usually charged separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do Scouts wear?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our young people wear a core uniform of a coloured sweatshirt or shirt depending on the section. They will also wear a special group necker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
